Here in Ecuador credit card purchases done directly in person are subject to a 10% surcharge (credit card companies do not charge merchants a merchant fee – instead, they deduct 10% off credit card transactions). We can accept credit cards, but only online via PayPal (www.paypal.com) with a 4% surcharge.
