So how many people visit the Galapagos Islands anyway?

The Galapagos Islands have become an increasing popular tourist destination.  In fact, the number of visitors has increased TENFOLD since 1980!  To give you a concrete comparison …  the total number of visitors in 1985 (17,840) is less than the total number of visitors (25,710) to Galapagos in the least visited two month period of September &  October 2010.

These figures reflect the common patterns established from year to year regarding the monthly flow of tourists to the Islands. The lowest demand month is always SEPTEMBER,  while the highest demand month is AUGUST. What follows are the months (from most visited to least visited) through the year:
